Thursday 18th July - walk ** – Around Felixstowe including a picnic at Jacobs ladder – sunny and hot with light winds:(

Its been a full on week of walks and a bike ride so were going to take it easy today especially as it was forecast to be hot! It was a little cloudy to start but the sun was out in time for me to do my exercises after breakfast in the back garden. I then packed a picnic, yummy egg sandwiches again, our favourite with cress grown by Mag. We left home at one and headed down to the seafront, with a light onshore breeze the sea was very flat with several people enjoying a day on the beach but it was way too hot for us. We made it to Jacobs Ladder and stopped in the first groyne and enjoyed our picnic despite the heat, definitely needed more breeze! It was slow going back with yesterdays long walk catching up on us, up through the Spa gardens and through the town buying ice cream and watch the over 50’s brass band playing on the triangle before heading for home to get out of the heat!

PS - I headed down to Felixstowe Ferry for an hour this evening to watch the sunset, had a pleasant time, better temperature too:)
